Beddoe takes the helm at nursing organization; senior staff hires at ABA and ADA; more departures and arrivals

Beddoe appointed CEO of nursing organization

ANA Enterprise, the overarching organization of the $36M-revenue American Nurses Association, American Nursing Credentialing Center and American Nurses Foundation, announced Angela Beddoe has been appointed CEO of the group as of Aug. 5. Beddoe was named interim CEO in April, succeeding former Acting CEO Debbie Hatmaker.

“Angela’s seasoned and diverse corporate experience, her demonstrated commitment to community engagement, and her deep affinity for the nursing profession is why we initially chose her to be our interim CEO.  Over the past 100 days her performance has been exemplary and her strategy and vision for ANA is both eye opening and refreshing.  We are excited to have Angela at the helm to move the organization forward,” said ANA President Jennifer Mensik Kennedy.

Beddoe is currently on the board of the Center for Workforce Inclusion (CWI) and is chair of CWI Labs, the group’s innovation hub launched in 2019. Previously, she was a principal at GreenForce Energy|GForce Consulting and the vice president of public affairs and president of the company’s foundation. She is also on the board of nonprofit organization Business for Good.

She has a bachelor’s degree in government from Skidmore College.

Va.) has been appointed Comcast’s next executive vice president of federal government affairs and head of its Washington, D.C. office.

American Bankers AssociationAlex Catanese has been named vice president of congressional relations of $593M-revenue ABA. He was most recently director of advocacy for America’s Credit Unions. Previously, he had stints at the Credit Union National Association and the Independent Community Bankers of America. 

American Board of Foot and Ankle SurgeryScott Morgan has joined $8M-revenue ABFAS as chief information officer. He spent the past 12 years at the Professional Photographers of America, where he was most recently director of information technology and administration. 

American Dental AssociationJim Schulz Jr. has been hired as senior vice president of government and public affairs of $139M-revenue ADA. He was most recently director of governmental and public affairs at the New Jersey Dental Association, where he spent the past 20 years. 

CFP BoardJillien Meier has joined CFP Board as managing director of program development. She has spent the past 12 years at hunger relief nonprofit Share Our Strength, most recently as managing director of program partnerships and strategy development.

Federation of American Hospitals—$17M-revenue FAH announced two new hires to its public affairs team.

Hannah Hurley has been appointed vice president of communications. Hurley was most recently deputy chief of staff for communications for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.). She was previously press secretary for the Senate Majority PAC in 2018. 

Additionally, Geoff Werth has been named FAH’s vice president of government relations. He was most recently a principal at K10 Government Relations. Previously, he was head of government relations at biopharmaceutical company Harmony Biosciences. Earlier in his career, he also worked for the American College of Surgeons and the U.S. House of Representatives.

International Fresh Produce AssociationMica Hider has joined $5M-revenue IFPA as director of political affairs. She joins the group from the American Chemistry Council, where she began working in 2011 and was most recently senior director of coalitions and PAC. Earlier in her career, she also worked for the National Association of Realtors and the Credit Union National Association.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce—Five-term former U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) has been hired as head of government affairs for the $210M-revenue Chamber. He will succeed former Rep. Evan Jenkins (R-W. Va.), who departed in February. Davis served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2023.
